Child Abuse Compensation Claims

FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION IN PERSON OR BY QUESTIONNAIRE

Partner in the firm and a panel member of The Association of Child Abuse Lawyers (ACAL) and the Law Society Personal Injury Panel with 22 years experience who will personally act on your behalf in pursuing claims against individual abusers, their employers, owners of children’s homes and schools, social services, religious and charitable organisations, The Scout Association as well as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims.

Any claim will be dealt with sensitively and with understanding that it is very difficult to talk about and pursue such matters, but also with the intention of ensuring you receive the maximum compensation for your suffering to help rebuild your life and obtain any necessary treatment which often includes privately paid Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Initial information can be provided by way of questionnaire or a meeting at our offices or by home visit.

90% of cases are settled without proceeding to a court hearing and it is very unlikely you will ever have to give evidence in court.

Historic Abuse:

Most cases are pursued by adults who were abused when children and although the abuse may have happened long ago, reasons for delay are taken into account by the court and usually involve the Claimant finally being able to address traumatic memories of abuse.

Funding:

Generally cases are funded on a no-win/no-fee basis and clients do not pay anything towards legal costs if the case is not successful.  If the case is successful the Defendant pays base legal costs but not the solicitors success fee which will be deducted from your compensation but cannot amount to more than 25% of your compensation.

If you wish to take the first step and obtain initial advice about the possibility of pursuing the child abuse compensation claim, telephone Matthew Blake on 020 8463 9805 (a direct line) or email him for a questionnaire on mb@cbsolicitors.com.

Tribute:

“Dear Mr Blake,
I am writing to you today to say thank you for all your help, support and understanding in the recent case you helped us win … the work you do is so important; you give victims a voice, a chance to right some of the wrongs in their lives, some power back, something so many of us have lost … I hope that our case may help some other victims in the future … so once again thank you Mr Blake for helping me rebuild my life and giving me hope”
