Wills & Powers of Attorney Pricing

Creating Powers of Attorney and writing a Will are the only ways to legally ensure your wishes are followed both in your lifetime and after you have passed away.

Why Us

We have an experienced team in Tina Price-Johnson and Matthew Blake, who can advise you on the best way to ensure the gifts you wish to make are given.  When drafting your Will we also provide basic estate planning advice to ensure that your estate is gifted the way you wish it and that your potential inheritance tax liability is known.  All advice provided is based on current inheritance tax legislation and probate practice at the time of creation and execution of your Will.

You and your beneficiaries can be confident in the knowledge that you are our priority, with our aim being that either Tina Price-Johnson or Matthew Blake are available to speak with you when you need some clarity and certainty at any stage in the process. We feel this provides reassurance and gives you an outlet for any concerns that you may have.

Pricing

We offer a fixed fee service and do not charge an additional hourly rate which is the pricing practice of many other firms.  We are therefore very competitive in our pricing.

Fixed Fee-Wills

We offer the following fixed prices:

  • Single Will - £200 plus VAT
  • Mirror Wills - £350 plus VAT

A Mirror Will is a joint Will created by couples in which the wishes reflect each other.  In practice some Clauses may differ, and advice will be offered in this regard to ensure each partner’s wishes are accounted for.

Disbursements

You may wish to register the storage location of your final executed Will with the National Will Register Limited, and this is charged at a set fee of £30 per Will inclusive of VAT.  This is an option that will be discussed throughout the process and need only be determined after the Will is executed.

Time Scales

On average, the drafting of a Will would take around two weeks, but the priority is for the creation of a Will that is exactly as you would wish it to be.  This firm would be led by your requirements and therefore the time it would take to draft and complete the Will would be set by you.

Fixed Fee-Powers of Attorney

We offer the following fixed prices:

  • One single Lasting Power of Attorney being either Health & Welfare or Financial Affairs - £200 plus VAT.
  • Two Lasting Powers of Attorney for both Health & Welfare and Financial Affairs - £300 plus VAT.

In the case of couples:

  • One Mirror Power of Attorney being either Health & Welfare or Financial Affairs - £350 plus VAT.
  • Two Mirror Powers of Attorney being both Health & Welfare and Financial Affairs - £500 plus VAT.

Disbursements

Registration and sealing of the Power of Attorney costs £82 per Power payable to the Office of the Public Guardian; you may not wish to register the Power immediately and this will be discussed during the creation of the Power.  This is a means-tested fee and you may be able to receive a reduction or waiver of such fees.

Time Scales

This firm would be led by your requirements in the drafting and creation of Powers of Attorney and therefore the time it would take to draft the documents would be set by you.  The timescale for registration of the Power is subject to the Office of the Public Guardian and may be in the region of six to eight weeks.
